And now a few words from me:

Hi, my name is Luis! I’m 12 years young and I love to go for walks and play with toys, including fetching balls, which I could do all day long. When I’m not playing, I’m a cuddly lapdog. I have a small heart murmur, which doesn’t affect me as long as I don’t over exert myself.

I do my best to communicate with my foster mom, but she doesn’t always understand what I’m saying. She says I chirp like a bird and sound like a cricket. I’m a bit of an alpha dog, so any fur siblings will have to be ok with me being the boss. I would also be fine as an only dog, but only if I’m not left alone for long periods of time because I get very lonely and cry a bit. Sometimes I try to be the big boss of the house, so I need an owner committed to providing boundaries and reminding me of the rules from time to time. Please know that I enjoy being on the furniture so I can snuggle in for naps – I enjoy napping! If you’re looking for a little dog with a big personality, and a bit of cheekiness for good measure, I’m your man.

And now a few words from my foster family:

Luis is a wonderful little boy who is full of fun. He loves playing with his toys, especially if you join in. He will chase a ball forever… or until he decides he’s ready for a nap. Luis walks well on a leash but does not greet other dogs well. He is slowly learning how to behave outside, and will need to be reminded often. He can also be cranky about his food, so please ensure that no other dogs are close by when he is eating. He may also be a bit snappy when being given a treat, and we’re working on this. He is learning to be gentle and trusting.

Luis needs an owner that will stay one step ahead of him or he will try to own the situation, and be the boss. It gets to be a game of wits, which can be quite fun when dealing with a cutie like Luis.

He will be a wonderful addition to a house with one or two retired people. Or he could make a family with older children very happy. Luis will bring lots of joy to his new family and be a great companion.
