And now a few words from me:

Hi, my name is Dashell. I’m a 2-year-old shorthaired miniature dachshund. I’m enjoying all of the activity at my foster home because there is always someone with whom I can play or cuddle. I enjoy hanging out with other dogs – I don’t mind following their lead so if they start barking, I support the cause and bark along with them. I especially like cuddling with my humans and I can usually fit myself into any nook or cranny on their laps. It’s fun when we go for walks because there is so much to see, smell and chase! I also don’t mind riding in cars. I’m getting used to the new routine at my foster house and when I follow the rules, I get rewarded with yummy treats. I need a little bit of time to adjust to new people and surroundings because they make me nervous. When I’m nervous, I bark because I don’t know what else to do. I’m looking forward to settling in with my forever family‎.

And now a few words from my foster family:

Dashell is a sweet little guy that embodies many classic dachshund traits: he can spot a squirrel about a block away; he can be vocal at times; and when he has expended all of that energy, he just wants to cuddle. Socializing is a new activity for him and he is adapting well to his new environment. New people and situations make him somewhat nervous and he’s not quite sure what to do with that energy other than to bark. He often looks for guidance from his humans and other dogs to help him get through uncertain situations, and he builds trust quickly. Dashell requires a consistent routine for housetraining. He’s a food-motivated boy. He is comfortable with adults and kids alike because he enjoys having company. Dashell is an adaptable, cute little dog and spends the majority of his day wagging his tail.
