And now a few words from me:
Hi! My name is Winky and I’m a roly-poly senior male dachshund very much still enjoying all that life has to offer! I was quite rotund when I arrived at my foster home, but I haven’t let that slow me down and we have managed to shed a few pounds. I probably won’t look completely trim again, since I have Cushings, which makes me a little saggier. That’s ok though, because I’m on medication and my shape gives me a funny waddle when I move around that endears people to me. It doesn’t take a long walk to tire me out, but don’t be surprised when I get sudden bursts of energy at home and start bouncing around. Mostly though I love dozing, especially if you help me up onto the couch with you for a cuddle.
I’m currently living with another dachshund and we get along great. If I meet other dogs in a safe environment like at home, I am easy to get along with, but when out on walks on leash I do bark at other dogs and don’t like saying hello, though I’m trying to learn some manners. At least I don’t really bark once I’m home, so I would be ok in an apartment! I am also very well housetrained and make noises if you don’t take me out often enough. Besides that, I go with the flow. You want to take me for a car ride? Sure whatever, I’ll just pass out on the back seat. Another walk? Oh alright.
I am looking for a loving home who will give me the gift to contentedly live out my last few years.
