And now a few words from me:

Hi, I’m Tommy, a handsome 10-year old fellow. My foster mom saved me from a noisy shelter. It was a scary place, but now I get to sleep where it’s quiet and safe. I don’t have to run in the streets anymore and search for food. While you can usually find me relaxing indoors, I also like to go outside and find all the new smells in the yard. My foster mom has a fenced yard, so I trot around and try to find the scents of the rabbits and squirrels that come and go. I don’t care too much about toys, but I really love to eat. I think that’s why I need to lose a few pounds, or so they tell me. I’m always afraid something or someone will eat my food, so I feel that I have to protect it. My foster mom is trying to show me that I don’t have to worry about that, and I’m learning slowly. I also enjoy going for short walks, but sometimes I can be in a bit of a hurry and pull too hard on the leash. I don’t bark very much unless I’m left alone in the house and I know someone is just outside the door. Sometimes, I will bark when I’m in a crate in the car, and I prefer not to be crated in the house. I like to sleep in my own bed on the floor, beside the big bed. Most of all, I love being near my humans. If you’re looking for a new buddy, let’s meet!

And now a few words from my foster family:

Tommy is the sweetest little guy! He loves to be around people, but is very independent. Due to his short legs and being the older boy that he is, he doesn’t try to jump up on any furniture. He uses a ramp to get up onto the couch. Alternately, if I lift him onto the furniture, I make sure to also lift him down when I leave the room. As long as he’s in the same room as me, he’s happy. He loves attention but prefers not to be picked up. When we go for a car ride, he needs to be on the seat beside you or on the passenger’s lap or he will bark, pant and get very upset. He will bark if left all alone, but with the other dogs here he is never completely alone. He loves food, but likes to gulp it down quickly. He has shown some aggression with food, but it’s because he wants to make sure it doesn’t disappear before he gets a chance to eat it. We’re working on this. He gets along really well with his two foster brothers and any visitors are greeted with an enthusiastic tail wag and a wiggle.
