Hi there! My name is Rosty and I’m the friendliest and goofiest dachshund you’ll ever meet. I started life in a puppy mill in Quebec, but I have quickly adjusted to living with a real family of people and other dachshunds. Am I handsome? Why, yes: yes, I am! I am loving my new life with foster mom, dad, and my weenie foster brother and sister. I love sleeping in the big bed with the people, but I am ok sleeping in my crate at night. I so enjoy playing fetch, chewing on my toys, snuggling on the sofa, giving kisses and getting treats! Foster mum is even trying to teach me to sit! I find that hilarious, but between you and me I’m kind of getting the hang of it. My house training is coming along really well; 4 days and counting with no accidents. Foster Dad thinks I’m brilliant, and I certainly don’t want to disappoint him, he gives me belly scratches and ear rubs. I’m still getting used to walking on a leash, but am learning a lot by hanging out with my foster brother and sister.
Even though I am a year and a half old, I still act like a puppy, my
cute behind waddling around when I chase toys, or sniff around the
apartment for any food that someone may have dropped. I know basic commands: down, no, bedtime (which means go to the crate), treats, bring it back (for when I’m playing fetch) and respond well to my name. I’d love to have a home where I can snuggle up to my people or sleep in their laps.
