A few words from us:
I am a dachshund/jack Russell cross that was surrendered to the rescue when my owner died. Foster mom says I am a dachshund with long legs (as far as dachshund leg standards go!) I am friendly with people (adults) and love attention. I can get grouchy with other dogs, I can be possessive of food and toys, but I am slowly learning to share. I can get a bit nervous when startled, or get my nails cut, so probably best we aren’t living with small children who might startle/surprise us.
And now a few words from my foster family:
Oscar is a sweet friendly guy. With his long legs he love walking, but does pull a little on the leash at first, until that first excitement has worn off. He has lots of energy, so does require a fair bit of exercise. Oscar will bark when he hears a strange noise or someone comes to the door, but usually settles down quickly when asked to quiet. He is quite curious and enjoys human company, so will whine a little when left alone. Oscar does growl a fair bit. We’ve determined that it doesn’t mean a whole lot, he doesn’t act on it; he just likes to be noisy. He has even growled when he has been happy! He gets along with most dogs, but his excitement sometimes gets the better of him and he doesn’t leave the new dog alone, chasing and jumping around. He is crated at night with is sister, but will jump into bed if given the chance. He also enjoys sleeping on the couch while we watch TV. Oscar definitely needs a home with someone who will be firm in training. You will definitely be rewarded with lots of love from Oscar!
