And now a few words from me:

Hi I’m Sugar! I am an athletic 7-year old. Weighing in at a respectful 24 pounds, the vet said my weight was perfect for my height! I guess that’s because I love to walk and run. I am very well behaved on a leash and don’t stop frequently to sniff the trail on my walks. I do my business and then I just want to get going! I do like to chase after squirrels and rabbits, so someone matching my athletic ability needs to be holding on to my leash. In the house, I am very calm and quiet. I only speak to chime in with the resident house dog. If he is barking, then something must be up! While using my “Big Dog” voice, I run to the door to scare away whoever is outside. When my humans let someone in, I quickly warm up to the visitor, be they young or old, male or female, I love everyone! My only dislikes are big dogs and car rides. Honey and I are a delightful duo, and we’re looking forward to finding a wonderful forever family!

And now a few words from my foster family:

Sugar suits her name, as she is very sweet and loving. She is 7 years young with short hair, and beautiful black and tan markings. She is a standard dachshund, and is bonded with her best friend, Honey. When inside, they cuddle on a chair or blanket, always close to each other. Sugar quickly accepted our resident dog, who is about her size, but she is shy with other larger dogs. We had a large puppy visit, and while both Honey and Sugar tried to give him space, when he approached them, Sugar positioned herself between the large dog and Honey. Sugar goes outside to do her business, but wants to come right back in unless she is going for a walk… then she would be happy staying out forever. She has spent the first seven years sleeping in the big bed with her humans and does not like to be crated. Sugar and Honey are sweet girls that will be a wonderful addition to any family.

And now a few words from me:

Hello there, I’m Honey. I am Sugar’s best pal, although she’s a bit more active than I am. I’m a tweenie who loves to cuddle and sleeps curled up with Sugar. We’re a bonded pair. However, unlike Sugar, I like to meander on my walks, stopping frequently to sniff the roses. I guess that’s why I have a few pounds to lose. But other than that, the vet said I am very healthy. On my walks I am friendly and inquisitive of all dogs I meet. I never start the barking brigade, but willingly join in with the other dogs when someone comes to the door. Sugar and I are a delightful duo, and we’re looking forward to finding a wonderful forever family!

And now a few words from my foster family:

Little Honey is a gentle sweetheart. She is 8 years young and currently weighs 15 pounds. The Vet thinks her ideal weight is in the range of 11 to 12 pounds. She is all black with brindle markings on her paws and muzzle. This little princess loves to be cuddled by anyone, and does not discriminate… young, old, male or female. Honey appears not to be fond of the dark. She needs to have the outside light on before she will venture out into the dark alone. Honey does not do stairs unless they are carpeted, and would really prefer to be carried down steps. She wants to sleep on the big bed at night, burrowed under the covers, and will wait for her human to lift her down. She will sit with young children who wait for her to come to them. Honey is very calm and quiet inside the house. She will bark, just once, to be let out. If she is not let out immediately, she will use a pee pad. To get attention, Honey will sit up like a gopher. She is leaning to enjoy car rides. Sugar and Honey are sweet girls that will be a wonderful addition to any family.
