And now a few words from me:

Hi! I’m Frankfurt, but you can call me Frankie. I’m a 9-year-old smooth red dachshund, but don’t be fooled by my age, because I love to play and go for walks. I have bursts of silliness all day long, which I like to be followed by kisses and cuddles. I especially love when you pretend to nibble on my neck; I have been told I make the cutest little sighs when this is happening. A good rub down is very much appreciated any time of day. My foster home has a bigger dog and I am just fine with her, and even though she’s not too sure about me, I keep trying to sneak up beside her for a snuggle. I like to sleep in the big bed, go on car rides, and I have been known to be a bit of a food hound, so get ready to guard your plates!

If you are looking for a playful lapdog that enjoys car rides and being your fulltime buddy, I’m your boy!

And now a few words from my foster family:

Frankie was surrendered because his owners didn’t have enough time for him. He initially showed a little anxiety from being left alone for long periods of time but he has begun to show his calm, silly little character since he has been in our home. He gives us a lot to laugh about with his confident strut and big boy attitude in such a tiny body. He loves to chew on toys, and finds them calming. He is an excellent houseguest; he has the run of our house when we are not at home, without incident. He initially barked at strange/new noises but now that he is used to things, it is rare to hear him bark unless someone comes to the door. We have been told he sometimes barks when we are not at home so this may be an area for training. This little guy is a sweet charmer, and would be a wonderful addition to any family.
