And now a few words from me:

Hi, my name is Crosby and I am a 3 year old black and tan dachshund. I am a brave little guy so I am not afraid of people or other dogs! In fact, I love to meet people because they usually end up petting me and showering me with love. I was the mascot at my foster parent’s softball game and I just soaked up all the attention! The list of things I love is pretty long since I am such a happy guy. The top of the list though is definitely going on walks! As soon as my foster mom gets the leash out I am all tail wags. I walk really well on my leash with only some pulling, but that’s just because I am so excited to be out there! I also love going for car rides, sitting shotgun (even if my foster mom is already there) and looking out the window is the absolute best. At night I used to sleep in the big bed and this is where I would prefer to sleep, but for now I sleep in my own bed in an X-pen. I put up a fight to leave the big bed, but once I am in my X-pen I don’t make a sound. My X-pen is also where I stay during the day when my humans go out. You get into one little garbage can and they make you stay in the X-pen. It’s okay though; I just play with my toys quietly and nap until they come home. Wow, I sure do sound awesome! Let’s be friends!

And now a few words from my foster mom:

We have taken to calling Crosby our little Velcro dog. He is always right next to you, if he’s not on your lap that is. He is a sweet little cuddle bug with lots of energy. I cannot emphasize enough how much he just wants to be with you and shower you with his love and kisses. As much as Crosby is a happy and loveable guy, when afraid and forced to pick between fight or flight, Crosby will fight. He will nip at you if you scare him or do something he does not like. We have been working on his manners to teach him that nipping is not allowed, but he will need a lot of continued help. An experienced doxie owner who can continue is training and help build his confidence is what Crosby needs! He will also need continued help with his housetraining. He spent his whole life doing his ‘business’ in the house on a pee pad so he will need time to learn and adjust to going outside. Crosby is one amazing dog full of love to give; he will make somewhere very happy if they’re willing to put in some work!
