Our Board of Directors

Tracey Laframboise – President

Tracey is the Controller at a drilling, blasting and excavation company in Haliburton. Tracey also does property management for several rental buildings. Prior to moving to Haliburton, Tracey owned and operated her own bookkeeping company for 13 years.

Tracey joined CDRO in 2004 and became President in 2010. Tracey lives with her husband Tim, their two dachshunds, two Chihuahuas and one chiweenie.

 

Lorna McBride – Vice President

Lorna is a full-time Oncology Nurse at The Ottawa Hospital on the inpatient oncology unit. She has the great honour of teaching students and mentoring them into the incredible field of nursing. She has been in oncology her entire 24-year career.

Lorna was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2012. Lorna, her husband and son live with a black lab, mini dachshund, a foster failure chiweenie and a dog savvy cat. All are rescued either from other people who couldn’t or didn’t want to have them anymore.

 

Michelle Carvalho – Director of Events and  Stakeholder Relations

Michelle is a consultant in the seniors housing industry providing market research, appraisal services and feasibility reporting to retirement and long term care providers across Canada.

Michelle began volunteering with CDRO in 2012 after adopting from the rescue. She was appointed to the Board of Directors in November 2013. Michelle and her boyfriend Dan are owned by their two dogs – a dachshund-mix named Wally; and a boxer named Murphy.

 

Roy Cartwright – Director, Operations

Roy and his wife Sylvia live in St. Catharines with their three miniature dachshunds, Abbie, Oliver and Josephine. Roy began volunteering with the Canadian Dachshund Rescue (Ontario) in 2012 and was appointed to the Board of Directors in July 2015

Roy held several senior management positions during his 37 years at Fusion Group, a UK based company manufacturing polyethylene jointing systems before he retired in September 2014.

 

Heather Benedict – Director of Fundraising

Heather lives in Arnprior, with her two miniature dachshunds, Rowdy and Cannelle. Heather began volunteering with CDRO in the spring of 2014, after being adopted by Cannelle. She was appointed to the Board of Directors in November 2015.

Heather has worked, in  different capacities, within the telecommunications, customer care,  and project management sectors. She volunteered for a number of years in community activities, and held positions on several Boards. She currently works at the Arnprior Public Library.
